A local chef is getting behind Hull Collegiate School’s (HCS) ground-breaking Safi Coffee initiative.
Since launching in September 2017, over a ton of Safi Coffee has been sold and now one local chef has been using the beans to create his own recipes. Matt Jacobs, who manages a Twitter page called ‘The Food Rhino’, has created a number of recipes using the delicious coffee beans.
Recently, Matt made a delicious tiramisu using Safi Coffee. He posted the recipe on his Instagram page which you find here @thefoodrhino.
Matt Jacobs, who trained as a chef in the Royal Navy, said:
‘’I absolutely love what Hull Collegiate School have done in producing Safi Coffee to sell across the UK to help children in Uganda to attend school. The coffee is made from one of the highest quality Arabica Beans, hence the delicious flavour. I have recently made a tiramisu using Safi Coffee which tastes fantastic, the flavours really came through. I plan on making more recipes using Safi Coffee. I am so impressed with the dedication the pupils have in taking the sales forward to help as many children as possible.’’
